Morgenzon Farm situated on the Northern slope of the Botmanskop Mountain in the Banhoek Valley - dates back to the 1800's and has farmed export plums for the past 40 years.
The Banhoek Valley is situated 1 hour from the Cape Town harbour on the Helshoogte Pass. Morgenzon Farm is 400 meters above sea level, with cold winters and deep red, well drained soils, making it ideal for Fruit and Indigenous Flower Farming.
Morgenzon Farm has 40 hectares of predominantly plum and some pear orchards. 10 hectares of indigenous flowers (Fynbos) is also grown, which assists in ensuring the effective use of labour throughout the year. The farm is GlobalGap whilst the Packhouse is BRC accredited.
GrangePack, situated on the farm, packs and cools down fruit on site. Containers are loaded directly on the farm ensuring a cost effective and reliable cold chain.GrangePack packs Stonefruit for a number of other growers. The total number of employees on both the farming operation, as well as the Packhouse, is 50 permanent employees and 60 seasonal employees.
